Free Radicals

Free radicals are produced during many essential metabolic reactions within the human body as well as by other external factors, including exposure to X-rays, ozone, cigarette smoking and air pollutants.

Free radical damage to DNA is implicated in the causation of Degenerative Disease, both directly and indirectly.

Fortunately we are able to protect the cells of our bodies from free radical damage. Minerals and Vitamins (anti-oxidants) play a key role in neutralising harmful free radicals within the body. For more information, please refer to the Protecting Your Cells section.
